Integrity iLO products

HP Integrity Integrated Lights Out (iLO) management processors makes it simpler, faster, and less costly to remotely manage your Integrity servers.

Overview

HP Lights Out management is a common remote management system now available throughout the ProLiant and Integrity server products. Integrity iLO and iLO 2 make web-based remote server management of your whole datacenter possible with new support for Integrity cell-based servers. Integrity iLO 2 Advantages:

  • A full “in-front-of-the-server” remote management experience from practically anywhere in the world.
  • Easy to use web GUI interface has the same look and feel as ProLiant iLO.
  • Comprehensive remote management, built in with every server.
Integrity iLO 2 Advanced features add additional administrator control. Virtual Media lets you remotely install software from CD, DVD, or ISO image file without having to be physically at the server. And for Windows and HP-UX administrators, the Integrated Remote Console provides a high performance graphical console that is available from the moment the system powers up.

Power monitoring and regulation for Integrity entry-class and server blades

HP Integrity entry-class systems and server blades with Integrity iLO 2 provide single-server power monitoring and regulation through the iLO 2 web GUI.

Integrity iLO 2 Power Meter monitors 24 hours of power usage (Watts) and heat generation (Btu) data and displays this data as graphs showing peak, minimum, and average amounts. Power monitoring is provided independently of the server OS and works with all Intel Itanium processors.

Integrity iLO 2 Power Regulator lets users set the power savings mode of the server through the iLO GUI. Integrity power regulation is supported in Integrity servers with selected Intel® Itanium® 9100 series processors. For Integrity servers, power regulation works in cooperation with the OS and requires a "power aware" OS. Today, HP-UX 11i v3 Update 1 with hardware enablement patches is "power aware".

Integrity iLO 2 also supports HP's Insight Power Manager, a datacenter tool for centralized control of power consumption and thermal output of both ProLiant and Integrity servers. Integrity server management through IPM v1.3 is enabled with purchase of an Integrity iLO 2 Advanced Pack license and Insight Power Manager server license.

Lights Out Advanced / KVM card

The Integrity Lights Out Advanced / KVM card is an optional accessory which combines a physical graphics/USB card with additional logic to enable the Lights Out Advanced features of Virtual Media and Integrated Remote Console. This card should be used instead of other graphics cards such as A6869B. No Lights Out Advanced license key is needed. This PCI-X accessory card is supported only in Integrity rx7640, rx8640, and Superdome sx2000 systems. Install one LOA/KVM card in each OS hard partition (nPar) where Lights Out Advanced features are required. Use the Integrity iLO 2 web GUI to access virtual media and remote console for each partition where an LOA/KVM card is installed.
