HP Thermal Logic for Integrity servers

Engineered with the environment in mind
Content starts here

HP Integrity servers not only deliver world-class performance, they are also engineered with the environment in mind. HP Integrity servers use HP Thermal Logic to reduce the energy consumption of the servers, to reclaim underused power capacity in the data center, and to extend the life of the data center.

Reduce server power consumption

HP Integrity servers include technologies that reduce the server power consumption. These include:

  • Power and temperature management, which reduces the risk of damaging critically system components and the automatic shutdown of applications to prevent data corruption.
  • Power conversion technologies, which utilize energy efficient power supplies to deliver up to 15 percent better efficiency.
  • System efficiency improvements that cut electrical current leakage.
  • Doubled performance of the previous generation systems at a similar or lower thermal power envelope.

Extend the life of the data center

HP Integrity servers are part of a heterogeneous data center, and take advantage of key HP offerings that extend the life of the data center, such as:

Reclaim data center power capacity

HP Integrity servers are integrated with a number of technologies that help reclaim unused power capacity in the data center, by:

Determine power for HP Integrity servers

Power for a particular configuration using the new Integrity server family can be determined by using the new HP Power Advisor tool. HP Power Advisor can assist in the estimation of power consumption and proper selection of components including power supplies at a system, rack, and multi-rack level.

To compute estimated server power and cooling needs for Integrity systems based on the Intel 9100 series and earlier, Power Calculators can factor in different server components and application loads to determine the electrical consumption and heat dissipation. Features include approximate server electrical and heat load for facilities planning, an interactive slide bar to vary software application load and compute for appropriate electrical and heat load, an analysis of server load to determine the required power supplies for redundant setup, and component level analysis
