| For enterprise UNIX installations, HP-UX 11i delivers the highest business value and lowest cost of ownership available today. Alinean, a leading IT financial consultant, ran the numbers and publishes HP's UNIX advantages in these three papers: |

| These case studies establish the business value of HP-UX 11i v2 on Integrity servers then compare HP's enterprise UNIX TCO to that of either SUN Solaris, IBM AIX, or Linux.
As an example applying this ROI methodology, the HP-UX 11i Open Source Reference Architecture for Web Services is featured in a manufacturing case study that shows customers benefit not only from lowered software costs but also from the combined HP-UX 11i on Integrity servers functionality of virtualization and security, running with fully tested open source software. Download the case study showing an ROI of 256% and net present value benefits of $3.3M.
IBM AIX with p-series and SUN Solaris with SUN Fire servers has 15% to 20% higher total cost of ownership than comparable Integrity server (Itanium® based) deployments with HP-UX 11i. Tom Pisello, President Alinean, Inc. December 2004
